For the global automotive industries, while the Automotive QMS Standard (formerly ISO/TS16949, now IATF16949) has been successfully adopted by the OEM sectors, there is a lack of unified and applicable standards for the diversified and challenging global aftermarket industry. As a result, International buyers for aftermarket parts do not have any consistent standard for quality assurance of their aftermarket suppliers.

Our partner in China, Shentou Supply Chain management Co. Ltd. is a Shenzhen based company serving international automotive clients in the implementation of their China strategies and programs. Shentou understands deeply the quality challenges international buyers face in their supply chains in China and they are now working with a group of concerned stakeholders of the global aftermarket industry to develop an ISO9001-based Automotive Aftermarket QMS Standard and advocate its compliance through an Alliance of Automotive Aftermarket Quality Assurance (AAAQA).

At 2pm on Wednesday, 29 November, during the first day of Automechanika Shanghai, there will be a Project Initiation event. The main agenda will be the introduction of the project and solicitation of comments and inputs from the aftermarket stakeholders.
